Gigi Kim
Co-founder

A senior at Orange County School of the Arts, Gigi Kim believes in advocating for a stronger and redefined narrative on the representation of Asian-American creatives in the film industry. Growing up close to her Taiwanese culture, she recognizes the importance of putting a stop to the discrimination and misrepresentation of Asian characters on the film screen and behind the scenes. She hopes to shatter the stereotypes that reduce Asian-Americans into flat portrayals, and rather striving for emphasizing their diversity and individuality. As a member of the SoCal American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Youth Liberty Squad, and a Youth Ambassador for Act To Change, she aims to uplift youth civic engagement in policy-making and racial justice.

Kate Shin
Co-founder

Kate Shin was inspired to start this project through her own journey with cultural identity. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, but moved to the United States at the age of seven. Through this experience, she has understood the importance of staying connected to her cultural roots. She is also a big cinephile, so she hopes that this project will be able to bring awareness towards bridging cultural gaps in Hollywood, introducing audiences to the nuanced world of Asian cinema often overlooked in Western culture and creating a platform that highlights the diversity within Asian films while encouraging more inclusive storytelling in the film industry.
